The narrator (Ray Bradbury) describes one small towns preparations for Halloween night. It was based on the childrens book by Ray Bradbury. Educational, Whimsical, Nostalgia Galore This is Halloweens equivalent to Christmass A Christmas Carol. I felt this was a very enjoyable read indeed! The Halloween Tree is an animated television special produced by Hanna-Barbera in 1993. I liked Moundshroud’s character too, and the events that happened during their travel.įrom a reader’s perspective, I think this book will appeal to many, but definitely not all. When young Pipkin becomes ill and is whisked away into the mysterious darkness of the Halloween tree, his friends must race through space. I liked the adventure the boys had, but more than that, the depth of friendship that was portrayed when each boy gives up a year of his life to save Pipkin. It’s a fast paced tale, and one that leaves me wanting more. It’s much more when you imagine the happenings, and the voices being spoken in a haunting tone. The boys, fast friends as they are, travel through time and space to try and save Pipkin, and also find the meaning of Halloween. ![]() Eight costumed boys wait for their friend Pipkin at the haunted house outside their town. ![]() ![]() The Halloween Tree is set on Halloween night. I had heard of the author before, so it made me wonder if this book would be as good as his more “known” title. I chanced upon this book while finding titles that fit into the categories of a reading challenge. ![]()
